Visa Bulletin For September 2022

It is not surprising to note that the Final Action Dates for Family based preference categories have not moved at all from the last month. Most of the categories remain oversubscribed except those pertaining to spouses and children of permanent residents are current except for Mexico which is still at April 22, 2019.

It is unfortunate to note that the Final Action Dates for Employment based preference categories that were oversubscribed last month continue to remain oversubscribed and haven't moved ahead except that EB5 preference category for China advanced by slightly more than a week. The gap between EB2 and EB3 preference categories for India is significantly wide. It may be expected that USCIS will focus on the EB3 preference category for India and may push it ahead with the EB2 preference category for India retrogressed.

EB2 and EB3 preference categories have shown no movement whereas EB1 remains current again this month. EB4 cut off dates continue to be November 8, 2017 for El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras and April 1, 2020 for Mexico while it remains current for all other countries of chargeability.

EB5 remains current for all other countries except Chilna that stands at December 22, 2015.

Bhagwati and Bhagwati will continue to keep a close eye on priority dates for various preference categories.
