The Biden administration is taking necessary steps to protect the DACA program that seems to be under threat of being declared illegal by 5th U.S. Circuit Court of appeals that could happen within a few days if not weeks. The Biden administration will appeal the decision of the court. It is noteworthy to mention that if the Supreme Court sides with the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, any protective initiative by the White House in the nature of the Executive Order can provide protection to the "Dreamers". It all remains to be seen how soon can such an Executive Order be issued. It is also important to note that Executive Orders remain in the light of the day only under the administration doesn't change. The history has it otherwise that a new administration from a different political party has overturned Executive Orders of the past administration. It is so unfortunate that DACA program has been oscillating between two ends due to whims and fancies of political inclinations to an extent that those who were brought in this country as minors aren't accorded the fair treatment when it comes to enabling them to realize their dreams to be part of this well known fabric of sovereign known as the United States of America.
