Biography

Vijay Bhagwati is the Founder and Managing Partner of Bhagwati & Bhagwati, P.C., where he leads the firm’s Immigration and Corporate Law practices from its offices in New York and New Jersey. With over 30 years of legal experience, Vijay is widely regarded as a leader in U.S. business immigration and corporate law. He began his legal career in 1993 after earning his law degree, representing multinational companies across industries like corporate finance, electronics, auto manufacturing, and information technology.

Vijay holds a Bachelor of Science, a Master’s in English Literature, an LL.B (JD-HPU), and an LL.M from NYU. Since founding Bhagwati & Bhagwati in 2010, he has successfully expanded the firm from an immigration-centered practice to a comprehensive, full-service law firm. He has achieved notable successes in Federal Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Administrative Appeals Office, and USCIS.

Licensed to practice in New York and India, Vijay actively participates in the American Immigration Lawyers Association, including its Federal Court Litigation and Removal Defense Sections. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, listening to Hindustani classical music, and pursuing his passion for motorcycles, maintaining a personal collection of bikes.
